14 Jan 1942: a large unidentified IJAAF aircraft taxying prior to takeoff from Mae Sot was strafed by Mingaladon-based RAF 67 Squadron Buffalos causing it to explode. No information is available on the IJAAF crew.

. . . Next day [14 Jan 1942] Flt Lt Pinckney (W8239) and two others flew to Mesoht airfield, where a large aircraft — identified as a Ju52 (sic) — was seen taxying prior to take-off. Following Pinckney’s attack, it exploded in flames.
